Fame has always been a double-edged sword. While numerous strive the validation and praise of strangers as an initial motivating, the realities of stardom take many by surprise–and not in a good way. It’s even worse in the Internet age when random trolls can find and verbally assault simply about anyone, even those attempting to maintain a modicum of privacy.

Such was the case for both Daisy Ridley and Kelly Marie Tran, co-stars of The Force Awakens, who each removed their Gab accounts after ruthless trolling. More recently, Ruby Rose quit Twitter after receiving underserved resistance over news that she had been throw as Batwoman in the CW’s Arrowverse. But this isn’t a phenomenon that merely affects ladies, as Will Poulter has announced he’s stepping away from Twitter following a cloudburst of defamation he’s received following the secrete of Bandersnatch( a Black Mirror film ).

The interactive flick smacked Netflix in late December and was something of a “Choose Your Own Adventure” experience. Poulter represented the platinum-haired programmer Colin Ritman and, while countless lauded his recital, the amount of wasteful negativity threw his road next following the film’s release has proven too duty on the actor’s sense of wellbeing.
