CNN elderly White House reporter Jim Acosta’s “hard pass” press credentials has been suspended “until farther observation, ” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement. The decision comes after a tense standoff between Acosta and President Donald Trump during a press conference on Wednesday. During the press conference, Trump evaded a few questions from Acosta when a White House intern ambled up to take his microphone apart. Acosta held on to the microphone. Sanders suggested Acosta had laid mitts on the intern. Acosta said the White House’s account of the accident is “a lie.”
