All Blacks fullback Jordie Barrett was cast off for kicking Wallabies’ Marika Koroibete flush in the face as he claimed a high kick during the first half of Bledisloe 3 in Perth.

Barrett searched stunned as he was red carded by Australian ref Damon Murphy in the 28 th hour. The All Blacks produced 13 -0 at the time and under the rules of The Rugby Championship, Barrett can be replaced by another musician after 20 minutes. The new principle was brought in to prevent red placards bungling the result.

The red parted love and reporters. Barrett hurried high-pitched with knee bent then moved his paw out catching Koroibete in the face.

” As “hes been gone” up he purposed up having to tilt his body in the air so it’s probably natural for his leg to come out ,” said former All Black Andrew Mehrtens on the Stan Sport commentary.

” I thought it was gonna to be translated into a yellowish, and justifiably, but a red? Wow .”

Co-commentator and ex-Wallaby Drew Mitchell felt the ref built the right see.

” I study going through it, it’s direct linked with the foot to the head ,” said Mitchell.” Going by the letter of the law that’s constitutes a red card.

” Accidental or not, you overturn this and you say it’s a shoulder, it’s going to be the same outcome.

” It’s a tough one. We’re sitting here imagine it’s partially accidental, but by the letter of the existing legislation the referee’s got that right.

Mehrtens computed:” In the old-time system, you would have got a yellow. I envisage the facts of the case that they know it’s not going to reduce them to 14 subjects for the rest of the game can weigh on that and then they can have a better look at it .”

Former All Blacks idol Sonny Bill Williams, speaking at halftime, said:” Obviously, it was accidental at best. In our activity we need to protect our actors but we need to protect video games as well .”

The decision compelled fraction on social media

That’s outrageous. Utterly no way Barrett deserves a ruby-red poster for that( any any card, imo ). If that is “the letter of the law”, the law is broken and I feel for the refs who have to apply it #BledisloeCup #AUSvNZL

You can’t knock an adversary in the leader … intentionally or otherwise ???? ♂ #AUSvNZL

I’m not a fan of knocks to the head but I’m not a fan of Barrets being transported off either. All things is the equivalent though, still seems a red poster for recklessness. #AUSvNZL

Barrett exited directly to Koroibete in the aftermath of the incident to check he was okay, but gaped surprised by the decision.
