They’ve done it again. Developer Panic Button returns with another very impressive Switch conversion of a current-gen entitlement: Digital Extremes’ Warframe. It’s accessible now on the eShop and it’s free to dally, so if you want to see how this talented squad has managed to accompanied PS4 and Xbox One suffers to Nintendo’s console hybrid, do check it out – we suppose you’ll be impressed.

The story of Warframe itself is a mesmerizing one, and its beginnings can be traced back to before the arrival of Xbox 360. Undoubtedly, the game that would eventually become Warframe was the first ‘next-gen’ game announced for the PS360 era. Back then it was called Dark Sector, which eventually secreted as something exceedingly, very different to that original discover. At some time, Digital Extremes returned to that early use and used it as the basis for the game we’re looking at today.

Launched in 2013 in tandem with the arrival of the current-gen consoles, Warframe has advanced radically over the last five years. Content has been boosted, execution has improved and the game’s graphics have improved significantly as Digital Extremes has worked on contributing brand-new aspects to its proprietary in-house Evolution Engine. Heavy on post-processing impressions such as bokeh profundity of environment, flow blur and bud, it’s a very handsome tournament – which realise Panic Button’s work on the Switch version even more impressive. In almost all behavior that matters, it mirrors the characteristic of the existing PlayStation game – privilege down to the inclusion of a PC-style alternatives menu.
