Young adult fiction author, Scott Westerfeld, recently announced an image of the New York City sky with a hole in the clouds that seemed similar to the portal seen in The Avengers. The 2012 film became the third highest-grossing film of all time at the time, bringing in over $1.5 billion. Avengers was a big thump that hoisted the popularity of Marvel Cinematic Universe to mainstream. Gatherings parcelled the theaters to see fan-favorites like Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America save Earth from Loki and his army.

In the cinema, Thanos orders Loki to steal the Tesseract to invade Earth and kill its citizens. After being hypnotized by Loki, scientist Erik Selvig uses the Tesseract to open a portal from across the universe. He done likewise on the top of a New York City skyscraper, and thus forms a big fault in the sky. Gatherings learn in Avengers: Infinity War that this was just the beginning of Thanos’ scheme to destroy half of all life in the universe.

When Westerfeld shared a picture of the odd-looking sky on Twitter, he stated that “Brooklyn’s up to some weird stuff today, it seems.” That’s when scribe/ editor Zach Gilbert reacted with a word-painting from The Avengers showcasing the portal, stating that “It looks like the third act of THE AVENGERS is about to start.” Gilbert is alluding to the fact that the two images inspect singularly same. The biggest inconsistency is that in the Westerfeld picture, a portion of a rainbow can be seen. The 2021 fault too inspects quite a bit larger than the 2012 fault, but it has the same effect. Westerfeld’s picture also contains the Brookyln Bridge, which is seen in The Avengers. The film’s production team flew across New York City to film some organisation shots and then added in visual influences to get the desired look for the finished movie that gatherings have since come to know and cherish. Those visual outcomes are just part of what has made the MCU the phenomenon it is today.

The fact that a representation like this can draw people remember an number from a cinema secreted nine and a half years ago is a testament to the racial blow the MCU has had. These movies is not only successful at their experience of liberate, but they are being watched again and again for years to come. This can be attributed the quality of the films, and the facts of the case that they are simply fun to watch and easy to been through. It is quite possible that these cinemas like The Avengers will still be a relevant and celebrated part of pop culture in 40 years, just like the Star Wars movies.
