Early 18 th century. England is at war with the French. Nevertheless, duck racing and pineapple eating are expanding. A fragile Queen Anne( Olivia Colman) dominates the throne and her close friend Lady Sarah( Rachel Weisz) determines the country in her stead while tending to Anne’s ill health and mercurial irritability. When a brand-new servant Abigail( Emma Stone) arrives, her appeal endears her to Sarah. Sarah takes Abigail under her wing and Abigail identifies a chance at a return to her elite beginnings. As the politics of struggle grow quite meter devouring for Sarah, Abigail steps into the infringe to fill in as the Queen’s companion.
