Tessa Thompson Talks About the Importance of Representation in the Marvel Movies

Tessa Thompson is opening up about the importance of representation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The 36 -year-old actress, who played Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame, wants to see beings of every hasten, sex direction, and ability in the movies.

” The truth is these movies tour globally in such huge routes, and if you can represent parties that are of color, if you can represent people with disabilities, if you can represent the LGBTQIA community inside of these films, it’s a pretty big deal ,” Tessa said in an interview for Variety‘s Actors on Actors series.

Tessa included,” I think it’s really important for everyone, but for young people extremely, to be able to show up to those movies and consider estimations of themselves. So I’m really excited that we’re able to continue to push the bandageds of that and that I’m able to do that with Valkyrie. Because there’s so many cool fag characters in the comic book, and they should have a place on screen .”

Anthony Mackie, who continues Falcon in the MCU, precisely called out Marvel for lack of diversity and pointed out what is” more prejudiced than anything else .”
