Without genre-blending cavity escapade Star Control, we possibly wouldn’t have the likes of Mass Effect, so today’s opening of a modern reboot- Star Control: Starts– seems reason to applause. Offering silly branching talks, arcade space action and planetside journey mini-games, it looks like a fine duration, full of peculiar immigrants to satisfy, planets to explore, and spaceships to shoot at.
It’s just a pity that my rage is dulled by a still-ongoing law engagement between Star Control: Origins makes Stardock and original Star Control 1 and 2 precedes Fred Ford and Paul Reiche over who owns the rights to the line and its world.
