Peacock Apologizes to Selena Gomez for Kidney Transplant Joke in 'Saved By the Bell' Reboot

The streaming service Peacock has exhausted an apology after Selena Gomez‘s fans expressed outraged over a joke about her kidney implant surgery in the new Saved By the Bell reboot series.

There are two separate scenes in incident six where the identity of Selena’s kidney donor is speculated.

In one vistum, two girlfriends argue over whether the kidney came from Selena’s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber‘s momma or her former best friend Demi Lovato. In another situation, graffiti on a wall appears to say, “Does Selena Gomez even have a kidney? ”

A seam announcement from Peacock, NBCUniversal, and the executive heads the production of Saved By the Ball has been released.

“We apologize. It was never our intention to make light of Selena’s health. We have been in touch with her team and will be making a donation to her kindnes, The Selena Gomez Fund for Lupus Research at USC, ” the statement reads( via Variety ).
