Rhenzy Feliz, one of the stars of Marvel’s Runaways, says he regrets knowing season 4’s canceled storyline. While Feliz had previously starred as Alex Wilder in Runaways, he’s recently become involved in various other projects as well. For instance, Feliz has a lead role in All Together Now, where he joins Auli’i Cravalho and Fred Armisen, among other talented cast members, in the Netflix drama about finding strength despite immense challenges.
While the series only received a 3 season run from Hulu, the Runaways was generally well-reviewed by fans and holds an average of 7.1 out of 10 stars on the IMDb. Runaways was adapted from the Marvel comic series, which ran from 2003 to 2005, but was canceled after only eighteen issues. The show centers around a group of six teenagers who team up against their supervillain parents. Although this backstory echos that of the comics, the show quickly diverged beyond comic arcs to become a loose adaptation at best.

In Feliz’s interview with Collider, he highlights that he wishes he didn’t know what had been planned for season 4. While Feliz notes that he was generally happy with the way season 3 wrapped up, stating that “the final scene gave [him] goosebumps, he says that he would have liked another season to further explore what came next. More specifically, Feliz says that he was privy to where showrunners wanted to take the plotlines in the future, and was extremely excited for the planned plot of season 4. When asked if not knowing what was planned for season 4 would have “helped soften the blow,” Feliz admits that it would have. He likens the season 4 storyline as “the unknown,” although he fails to mention any specifics of the season that could’ve been.
While there’s intense speculation around potential season 4 storylines, the end of Runaways’ season 3 finale hinted at the appearance of Victor Mancha, a cybernetic being who is the son of Ultron. As the cancellation also squashed any hopes of seeing Mancha on the big screen, as well as wrapping up unresolved plot points, this is undoubtedly disappointing news for fans. Understandably, it seems that Feliz is equally disappointed about the series ending.
Although the cast of Runaways continue to keep details of season 4 close to the chest, fans can continue to relive the best of the show through online streaming platforms. Viewers can find the series on Disney+, and experience the wild adventures of this ragtag group of heroes. While news of Runaways’ cancellation continues to be frustrating, especially considering the show’s untapped potential, here’s to hoping that Disney considers the series for a new season sooner or later.
