Loki‘s new Disney+ show is set to introduce the MCU’s Time Variance Authority, a potent formation tasked with protecting the flow of day. Thanks to the Coronavirus, it’s been an improbably strange time for the world at large, and on a smaller scale, Marvel Studios. The continuous spurt of MCU movies had become a reliable pop culture milestone supporters could depend on, but at this level, it’s been nearly two years since the last MCU installment punched theaters, and it’ll be well past that marking when the thrice delayed Black Widow finally arrives in November.

While that chain of events was obviously beyond the control of Marvel and Disney, there’s no doubt that 2020 was a very long year for anyone looking to get their MCU fix. Thankfully, that deepened when 2021 gone around, albeit not with the debut of an MCU movie, but instead the MCU’s long-awaited debut on Disney +. WandaVision deserved high distinguishes from many, and while the jury is still out on whether The Falcon and the Winter Soldier been able to reach those same elevations, the interplay between the two suns is as good as it’s ever been.

About six weeks after The Falcon and the Winter Soldier wraps up, Loki will premiere on Disney +, bringing with him new Marvel Comics personas and lore set to be introduced to the MCU for the first time. The most remarkable of these is the Time Variance Authority( or TVA ), a multiversal group that’s none too happy about Loki’s shenanigans.

As the trailer for Loki makes clear, the Time Variance Authority is an organization that works to protect and maintain the integrity of the multiverse’s timeline. They seem to be quite skilled at their hassle, and possess lots of resources with which to do it. Still, that didn’t stop this version of Loki from shambling up everything they cultivate so hard to keep straight-shooting. When Loki stole the Tesseract and faded during the Avengers’ botched 2012 heist in Avengers: Endgame, this event seems to have altered the flow of period for the worse, at least according to the TVA.

Kang the Conqueror, one of the stronger villains in the Marvel Comics stable, is set to be introduced into the MCU in 2022 ‘s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Kang is most often illustrated as a scoundrel, and is actually a descendant of Reed Richards specified Nathaniel, although one fears that will be kept intact for the MCU, due to the Fantastic Four still not being a thing there more. Richards has actually made countless names over the years, but Kang is the most famous, a warlord from the far future that uses his advanced technology to go back and curb the past.

That said, it would also be interesting to learn why such a strong radical chose to remain on the sidelines while Thanos lashed the population of his macrocosm in half.
