Game engine maker Unity has announced it intends to acquire Peter Jackon’s VFX company Weta, the studio behind impressions in films such as The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Avatar, Marvel movies like Everlastings, and Tv streaks such as Game of Thrones. With their purchases, it intends to clear Weta’s VFX technology and assets accessible widely to all makes across movie, games, AR, VR, and more.
