Democrat presidential campaigner Tom Steyer unloaded on progressive Bernie Sanders on Monday during an CNN town hall event over Sanders’ activist creed and for his praise of bloody-minded communist dictators and regimes.
” I don’t remember a government takeover of major parts of the American economy is a good project ,” Steyer said of Sanders’ progressive plans.” I don’t think it’s good for working people. I don’t think it’s good for homes. I known better unchecked capitalism has disappointed. But the mixture is not for the government to take over large-hearted areas of the economy .”
” Look, the work requires a colourful, competitive, dynamic private sector ,” Steyer continued.” That’s the gander that arranges the golden egg. So we can’t kill that. We need to have a government that works for the people that writes governs so that corporations have to act in a way that helps us. But let’s get over the idea that somehow the government taking over major parts of the economy is a good plan. It’s never toiled in the past and it’s not going to work for we are currently .”
Later, CNN’s Chris Cuomo pressed Steyer about Sanders’ recent comments admiring socialist China and brutal communist authoritarian Fidel Castro.
” I don’t think it’s appropriate to look at a dictator in Cuba who’s been there for 60 times, who has really done a horrific racket for the Cuban people, who’s an authoritarian who’s never tolerated dissension or ballots and who has done accurately — he’s had the authorities concerned own the economy and beings are ravenous and he’s been a cruel controller of “the two countries ” ,” Steyer reacted.” I don’t think it’s appropriate to be giving him a lot of praises .”
” The United State is supposed to be the value-driven leader of the world countries. We stand for freedom ,” Steyer continued.” We stand for democracy and justice and equality. And I ponder when we go out to the world we should be standing up for the things that we believe in. That’s what the whole idea of the United District is. So I’m never going to be complimenting beings, unelected leaders, of countries who completely insure without any form of democracy, right or equality. No, I think it’s unwarranted, Chris, I truly do .”
” If you’re asking me, will I ever compliment a regime that’s unelected, that rules without the legal rules, that is — that predominates its country without the kind of democracy and — that “weve had” ?” Steyer concluded.” No, I’m never going to compliment that organisation. I don’t approve of it. I don’t think it directs. I think we stand up for who we are around the country because we’re trying to be the best value driven country in the world. That’s who “we il be”. We should be proud of it and we should never give in to somebody else’s view .”
