Elizabeth Potthast from 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After ? unwillingly converted to her husband Andrei’s religion, are consistent with an exclusive time of the cringy moments leading up to her dedication to Orthodox Christianity. One might is of the view that since the conversion process was necessary for Libby to marry the father of her child in his church, she’d be a bit more enthusiastic. Elizabeth, however, was not.
Leading up to the moment featured in the ungainly clip, Elizabeth and Andrei traveled to Europe to have a big marry in Andrei’s home country of Moldova. The journey was somewhat of a surprise to Elizabeth, who didn’t realize that her husband wanted to hold a traditional Moldovian bridal so soon. Their journey started on a rocky memo before the couple even boarded the plane, as the short notice Andrei imparted before the trip meant that some of Elizabeth’s family wasn’t able to attend. Though Elizabeth was frustrated, she went through with the junket to Moldova, simply to find out that she ought to have been inducted in Andrei’s church to hold the wedding there.

In the exclusive clip of the baptism obtained by ET, Elizabeth dons a plain grey ceremony dress while sporting a face free of makeup. Her look is interrupted by a modest headscarf. Throughout the nearly two-minute video, Elizabeth rosters her attentions when asked about her enthusiasm for converting to her husband’s faith. She too begrudgingly describes her garment and the purpose for it within the ceremony. Elizabeth shows, “I don’t actually know what it’s going to be like, but I’m ready to do it so we can move on and ended with our wedding.” At one point, Andrei asks if she’s excited about the ceremony. Her response? “Sure, nervous.” However, the real kicker comes when Elizabeth utters her concerns about Andrei’s religion as a whole. “There are so many rules that follow a baptism, ” she said. “So, you cannot wear makeup, you have to wear a headscarf, you have to be dressed in all white and this is all brand-new to me. “Its like”, literally another world.”
Elizabeth’s conversion isn’t the first time she has felt bulldozed by her hot-blooded husband. Prior to both wed ceremonies, the couple’s courtship was a cornucopia of strange times due to Andrei’s often archaic vistums about women and relationships. Andrei’s desire to be the man of the members of this house, with Elizabeth indiscriminately following behind him, initiated gargantuan issues with the couple’s financial stability. Their romance was further challenged when independent Elizabeth went to her papa for financial assistance when money was tight. Andrei felt this move was an affront to his manhood and blustered about it accordingly. In add-on, Andrei’s insistence that Elizabeth distance herself from her close-knit home was also met with a huge backlash online. Recently, in observance of their second wedding ceremony in Moldova, Andrei continued to swat his hand at feminism. While being performed breakfast by his mother, he pointed out to Elizabeth that waiting on others is the way Moldovan brides behave, lending gasoline to her growing concerns about his chauvinism.
Despite the many red flags about her husband’s impressions, Elizabeth’s behavior is also confusing. It’s as if she has never converged Andrei and all these oddities in his personality have just creep up on her. 90 Day Fiance observers are well-versed in Andrei’s domineering and archaic sillines at this top. If we can see he’s a bit nutty, why can’t she? Furthermore, if she isn’t “down to clown” with her man’s faiths, why stay in the relationship? Religious conversion is nothing to enter into thinly. That process is one in which a person dedicates his or her life to a specific faith, and must uphold the dogma of that prison. Any skepticisms or shortfall of warmth should be taken as a sign that this might not be the best step.
