The Matrix Resurrections debuts in theaters and on HBO Max Dec. 22, 2021. Spoiler-free review by Amelia Emberwing.

The Matrix Resurrections is the kind of movie that will go down in religion autobiography because it is so laughably bad. Truthfully, I can’t even say it’s unenjoyable because I depleted so much better of its overly long runtime giggling over how jaw-droppingly misguided the majority of it is. And, even with how bumpy it is, kinfolks looking for that nostalgia will get exactly what they’re looking for. Granted, it’s exciting to see Neo and Trinity again, and the new participates are eliciting additives to a complicated canon. At the same time, so many good plans( and the visual results) are met with absolutely slipshod hanging and an insufferable desire to be constantly meta that the best summary accessible is “Less than the sum of its parts.”
