Owen Wilson Recalls How Older Brother Andrew Helped Him After 2007 Suicide Attempt

Owen Wilson is sharing some uncommon notes about his past struggles.

In a brand-new interview, the 52 -year-old Loki actor recollected how his older brother Andrew been here by his line-up after he struggled suicide back in 2007.

In his Esquire cover story, writer Ryan D’Agostino wrote that Owen” doesn’t talk much about” the dark time in his life, but did share that his older brother temporarily moved in with him to keep a close watch after Owen returned home from the hospital following his suicide attempt 14 years ago.

The journalist added that Andrew was ” rising with him every morning and writing up little planneds for every day so that lifetime seemed at first practicable and then, at some degree, a long time later, actually good .”

Also in the interview, Owen recalled thinking about death a lot when he was younger.

” As a kid, there’s a lot of things that you think about. Death — that kind of arrived with me when I was about 11 ,” Owen interpreted.” And I don’t remember ever talking with my mothers about it .”

He continued,” Although I do remember one time saying to my father — and I recollect exactly where in the house — saying,’ I was concerned about dying ,’ and reading my dad turn away and catch himself. And I was surprised to see that reaction. But who knows, maybe that was part of why I said it .”

Now, Owen says he’s in a” lucky home” of optimism.

” I’ve been in kind of a lucky target of feeling reasonably respectful of things. I know everything’s kind of up and down, but when you get on one of these curves, you’ve gotta ride it as long as you are eligible to ,” Owen shared.” I’ve just felt — yeah. Feeling somewhat grateful. Well, grateful’s one of those commands that get exerted all the time. Appreciative. Of, you know, material .”
