I dread the cost of care while on holiday could be enormous. How do others solve this problem?

We’re a duet in our 50 s and my partner demands a puppy. My concern is that we go on holiday abroad three times a year, so the cost of kennelling/ doggy day care/ baby babysitters will be enormous. How do others solve this problem?
