Google has a brand-new DVD screensaver Easter egg available to access in Search. Google is no stranger to Easter eggs in general, and while some were released years ago and have since disappeared, others have remained available online and are still available today. With the latest DVD-themed one, Google is providing a little movie nostalgia to those that might have since moved to streaming.

As with most things, the internet has changed how people consume TV depicts and movies. However, there was a time when it was all DVDs, with the format doing for video what Cds did for music. Often backpack with addeds, DVDs offered better cost, although purchasers did have to contend with regional differences. Even today, DVD movies have a different runtime in the UK compared to the U.S.

To enable the Easter egg, the subscribers simply needs to head over to Google.com and sort in “DVD screensaver.” At which degree, the Google logo will move away from its often top-left position on the Search page and travel across the screen at an tilt, before go off the other side and continuing its journey indefinitely. Each experience it strokes a feature of the screen, the insignium will change color, just like the original DVD screensaver. For cite, the Easter egg is only available on desktop, so it won’t be work on portable devices.

As mentioned, Easter eggs are a popular pastime with Google, and there have been quite a few movie-related ones. In the past, Google has adopted Avengers with the ability to perform a Thanos snap on the Search answers and the option to turn the page into a sepia-toned version with a The Wizard Of Oz Easter egg. For now, though, consumers will have to make do with a DVD screensaver, or take part in a quick round of Atari Breakout.
