A former Facebook employee has spoken out against the impairment she says the company is doing. She announced out CEO Mark Zuckerberg, saying his selections allow injurious material to persist. A former Facebook employee who has divulged internal documents to the press divulged herself on Sunday and shared more critiques about the social media monstrous and its chief executive.

In an interrogation with “6 0 Minutes, “ Frances Haugen described the mischief she believes is perpetuated by Facebook, including not properly addressing hate on the stage, contributing to eating disorders and suicidal designs, and making decisions in its own best interest rather than that of the public.

She called out founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, saying his actions cause harm despite his initial meanings for Facebook.

“I have a lot of empathy for Mark, ” she said, adding that he “never set out to make a nasty platform.”

“But he has allowed hand-pickeds to be made where the side effects of those options are that malevolent, polarizing content gets more dispensation and more reaching, ” Haugen said.

In a statement provided to Insider, Lena Pietsch, Facebook’s administrator of program communications, said: “To indicate we encourage bad content and do nothing is just not true.”

“Every day our units have to balance protecting the ability of billions of parties to express themselves honestly with the need to keep our programme a safe and positive home. We continue to represent significant improvements to tackle the spread of misinformation and harmful content, ” she said.

Haugen, a onetime commodity administrator at the company, gathered internal documents and shared them with the press in an attempt to prompt change at the company, according to The Wall street Journal, which based an investigation earlier this year on documents she added them.

Last month, advocates for Haugen registered numerou grumbles with the Defence and Exchange Commission alleging Facebook’s internal knowledge contradicted what it said publicly, “6 0 Minutes” reported.

Haugen left Facebook in May, feeling that the company was prioritizing its swelling over what its own research determined was good for the public and its users.

She plans to testify before Congress this week to encourage the federal government to impose regulations on Facebook.
