So what’s going to happen on Friday? 3 options for finalising the Eredivisie season

Dutch football fans are now trying to work out how the 2019 -2 0 season will be settled.

When the season was suspended due to the Covid-1 9 crisis, Ajax were only above AZ Alkmaar on destination divergence. Ajax and AZ had 56 tops, while Feyenoord were third with 50 points.

At the other end of the table, RKC Waalwijk were dead-certs for the fell, while ADO Den Haag were also sounding doomed in the automatic relegation castes. Fortuna Sittard and PEC Zwolle were both battling to escape the relegation playoff.

Meanwhile, in the second tier, the Eerste Divisie, Cambuur were conducting the suffers on 66 qualities. De Graafschap were second on 62 points.

On Wednesday, Voetbal International lay out three options for how the KNVB can close up the 2019 -2 0 season.

Option 1- Swell Eredivisie to 20 teams

In this situation, the KNVB could increase the teams in the Eredivisie from 18 fraternities to 20.

That would entail ADO Den Haag and RKC Waalwijk remain in the Dutch top flight, while Cambuur and De Graafschap are also promoted for the 2020 -2 1 campaign.

If followed, one would assume that Ajax would be crowned champions.

Option 2- Null& void

A second option is that the KNVB declare the 2019 -2 0 season null and void.

That would mean there’d be no champion , no relegation and no publicity from the second tier.

Option 1- End season’ as is’

A third option is to be completed the season’ as is’.

That would necessitate Ajax are champs, while ADO Den Haag and RKC Waalwijk are relegated.

Hakim Ziyech will join Chelsea on July 1

One byproduct of the decision to end the 2019 -2 0 Eredivisie now is that Hakim Ziyech’s move to Chelsea will go through as contrived on July 1.

Ajax’s Ziyech agreed a move to Stamford Bridge earlier in the season.

Back in February, the winger signed a 5-year contract with Chelsea.

Dutch paper Telegraaf reporting under Wednesday 😛 TAGEND

Hakim Ziyech will not get the farewell from Ajax that he deserves. The adept player will makes his dream move to Chelsea on July 1.
