brie larson phone sex hotline

Usually, when movies make a marketing faux pas, it’s more along the lines of bad photoshop on a sign. But this week, Disney‘s Captain Marvel managed to inadvertently advertise a phone sex hotline. Scarcely an ideal outcome when you’re trying to brand yourself as a feminist superhero movie.

This weird issue came up thanks to a photo affixed by Brie Larson on Monday, advising followers to get out and poll. It evidences Larson wearing her full Captain Marvel costume, standing inside a phone booth surrounded by Rock the Vote signs. Unfortunately, that telephone booth included a( minuscule) roll for a phone sexuality cable. And since Marvel love obsessively run down every evidence, undoubtedly some people announced it.

Thanks to some internet snooping from a redditor called anilsoi1 1, we now know the phone number( 1-800-654-2192) used to belong to ABC. It used to appear in indicates like The Suite Life of Zac and Cody, and if you called it, you got an automated letter from the network. But ABC evidently made the crowd misstep, and if you call it now, you get this theme 😛 TAGEND

” Welcome to America’s hottest talk thread. Guys, red-hot dames are waiting to talk to you–press 1 now. Dames, to talk to interesting and rousing chaps, free, press 2 to connect free now .”

Oops.

Since the digit only appears in the misty background detail of a single Captain Marvel promotional photo, it was likely won’t cause too many problems. It is, however, a remember of why most movies and TV shows use the fictional 555 place code for any phone numbers that appear on-screen.
