A Young Man’s Game
Alabama QB Bryce Young is living up to the promotion in his first collegiate season. The young fulcrum saw his Heisman odds improve from +400 to +300 after hurling five TD progress in a blowout win over Southern Miss. Young ended 20 of 22 oversteps for 313 grounds in the victory.

Young did fling his first interception against Southern Miss, but it’s overshadowed by his five TD propels and exemplary 90.9 attainment percentage. On the season, Young has thrown for 1,124 grounds and 15 TDs with one collect. He’s looking to become the first Alabama QB in autobiography to earn the Heisman.
Young faces one of his toughest evaluations of the season going up against Ole Miss in Week 5. The Rebels handed the Tide a great fight in a 63 -4 8 Alabama win last-place season. While Matt Corral had a huge execution in that game, Tide QB Mac Jones was also able to pad his stats by propelling for over 400 gardens on a shoddy Ole Miss defense.
Ole Miss QB Matt Corral remains the Heisman Trophy favorite following Week 4 of the season. Corral had a bye this weekend after overtaking Young as the favorite last weekend. Through three activities, Corral has throws for 997 gardens and nine touchdowns with no interceptions. His 68.8 ending percentage is close to Young’s( 72.1% ).

Corral deserves to be the Heisman favorite record Week 5, but things could change following the huge showdown in Tuscaloosa. The Ole Miss swivel is facing his first privileged defense of the season in the Crimson Tide. The positive is Corral threw for 365 yards and two touchdowns on Alabama last-place season.
The Rebels have opened as 16.5 -point losers against the Crimson Tide, which represents Corral has a huge opportunity on his hands. If he can stroll into Tuscaloosa and conduct his team to the upset, he’ll become the odds-on Heisman favorite. On the contrast, if he gets outplayed by Young, he could see his odds plummet.
JT Daniels Enters Top Three
UGA quarterback JT Daniels has moved into FanDuel’s top-three Heisman favorites after propelling for 121 gardens and two TDs in one quarter against Vanderbilt. Georgia’s 62 -0 blowout of the Commodores is reason to tread thinly with Daniels as a Heisman candidate. UGA has been blowing out resists so badly that Daniels doesn’t play after the first half.
There’s no doubting Daniels is one of the best QB’s in the person, but the eye-opening stats required to triumph the Heisman nowadays aren’t likely to be there at the end of the year. In three starts for UGA this season, Daniels has thrown for 567 gardens and five TDs with two interceptions. He too missed Week 3 due to injury.
Daniels hasn’t fallen further down the human rights committee as there’s still technically a itinerary for him to triumph the Heisman. Georgia has looked like the best team in the commonwealth through fours tournament, and a QB on a powerhouse like that is always becoming going to get consideration. Daniels is undefeated in UGA and has some hard opposings remaining, so if Young or Corral stumble, he had been able to make a push.
Other Week 4 Note
It may appear that there are only two legit Heisman contenders after Week 4, but recent biography tells us the race is never over in the first half of the season. Last-place year’s winner, DeVonta Smith, was a longshot for most of the season before exploding against LSU in December and becoming a favorite. Which current longshot could be this year’s Smith?

— TreVeyon Henderson (@ TreVeyonH4) September 19, 2021
Freshman running back TreVeyon Henderson has been remarkable for Ohio State, scurrying for 439 yards and six touchdowns on simply 46 carries through four plays. He doesn’t have the volume some of the other top RB’s have, but his 9.5 yards per carry is second-best in the country. With QB CJ Stroud nursing an injury, Henderson could play a huge role for Ohio State the rest of the season.
Henderson vanished from +4000 to +3000 after racing for 98 yards against Akron in Week 4. Another player worth monitoring is Cincinnati’s Desmond Ridder (+ 2600 ), who had a bye week in Week 4 to prepare for Notre Dame next weekend. This will be Ridder’s toughest game of the season, so he could see drastic odds push will vary depending on how he performs.
