Hi, I “think thats a” fairly newbie questions, and I wonder how to best approach it as information systems I work on goes large. Not enterprise large, but SMB class.

Lets presuppose 1 router with 1 spf+ and 8 gigabit ports, 2 – 48 p substitutions in the MDF, and 1 – 48 p button in a remote IDF closet on floor 2. Data removes, VoIP telephones, IP Cams, APs, and some IoT designs with respective VLANs. No AD, but perhaps a file server or NAS. Typical router with 1 SPF+ and 8 c copper ports. Usual permutation with a marry sfp+ ports each. All the cable leads are within 100 m copper limits.

I could create 3 ” trunk” copper ports on the router and sun them out. Or should I daisy bond the swaps?

Are there any scenarios where one method is preferred over another? Is it simply a bandwidth advantage to use the SFP+ ports to connect the switches? With a organisation this small does it matter?

I time want to make sure I am doing it the most efficient way. Thanks for any help!
